PARTNERSHIP FOR FLOYD

MONTHLY MEETING

President Anne Pendrak presided and called the meeting to order.  A quorum was attained.

Present were:  Amie Slate, Anne Pendrak, Jane Cundiff, Michael Maslaney, Ellie Roe, Ralph Roe, Karin Grosshans, Jack Wall, and Dede McGrath.

Minutes:  The minutes of June 20, 2016, were approved as written.

Treasurers’ Reports:

General Fund:  Treasurer Karin Grosshans reported the balance for the General Fund is $6990.05; there was no activity since the last report.  She will be writing the check for the new sign letters shortly.  Karin’s report is attached and incorporated by reference.

County Professional Fund:  There was no new information on the status of this fund.  Karin’s report is attached and incorporated by reference.

Old Business:

Park Report:  Mike reported that the Town Park committee met at the park along with Eli, conducted a visual of the park, and brain stormed ideas and priorities.  They are not planning to do anything in the Park until 2017, although Paul wants some seating in the park now.  Mike donated a log to be used for seating; there are now 3 log seats in the park.

Trail Report:  Mike reported that a sign has been ordered for the trail.  It will be 30” x 20” and has all the pictures PFF wanted.  The Town will be responsible for creating a “rules” sign.

Jack reported that he has been invited to a board meeting of the Recreation Authority to discuss a Rec Park Trail.  Mike Patton is now on the board along with Dustin Hollandsworth, L________ Yoder, Doug Thompson, and __________ Andrews.  Jack reported that we are still in the same position regarding trails currently at this point; the board has to check with its attorney.  Jack has agreed to serve on a committee to research the trail.

Karin reported that Jon Beegle is still interested in an Industrial Park trail.  Since the Data Center did not come in, perhaps this project could be revisited.

Sign Letters:  Ellie presented to the board the Floyd Press article regarding the new sign letters.  Ralph was able to make a sign to go with the letters asking people to return the letters to the proper places.  The sign also lets people know the letters were donated by PFF.

Community Center:  No new information.

Earth Day:  It was decided to have the 2017 Earth Day on May 6, 2017, at the Floyd County High School.  Anne will check with Deanna to reserve the spaces needed.

Sustain Floyd Film Series:  No new information.

County Fair:  The Floyd County Fair (Sept 17th) was discussed.  The Fair is Sept 17, at Chantilly Farms.  We will be sharing spaces with Sustain Floyd.  We will be hosting the milk bottle toss and other activities, having teas, etc.  Canopies and tables will be needed along with water dispensers, coolers, etc.

New Business:

Duck Race:  Karin presented a proposal to support the Chamber of Commerce for their Duck Race fundraiser by being the 501 sponsor (attached email).  It was decided that this was something PFF could do, however, we might not be needed after all.  The Duck Race is Aug 20, 2017.  More information to follow.

Announcements:

Floyd Tractor Run: Aug 20th.  Contact Susan Leonard for information.

Meeting was adjourned.  Next meeting will be Monday, August 15, 2016, at 6:30 pm at Wall Residences.

Respectfully submitted,
